Mrs. Buss 6th grade ELA: Watch this video to refresh on personification: https://youtu.be/1Mb6NxixRk8 Then think about winter as a person, what does she say, what does she do, what does she want? Write at least 1 paragraph using complete sentences with interesting sentence starters, strong verbs and nouns, and vivid adjectives and adverbs. Describe how winter looks, talks, acts and what is her personality. Be creative and use your words to paint a picture. If you need help getting the juices flowing, think about this: How does Winter “look” human? (Her snowy gown trails behind her as she waltzes through the woods. / Winter wears a white fur coat and a crown of ice crystals.) How does she talk? (With gentle whispers, she calls me outside to dance in the snow. / Howling from the rooftop eaves, she sends sharp warnings to stay inside.) How does she act? (Winter pushes me playfully down the sparkling street. / Winter rules from a fortress of icicles and frost.) How does she reveal her character or personality? (Together, we spread banquets for rosy cardinal birds. / I see her stern face, and she sends chills down my spine.) Good luck and I can’t wait to meet your version of winter!

This is for Coach King’s 8th grade math class. Think of a real world situation in your life where you would use percents and how it would benefit you to know how to find those percentages (school work, athletic feats, etc.) I want you to write down and work out this scenario. Now, let’s say you go to get a loan at the bank for $3,000. The bank gives you a 4.2% rate for 60 months. Calculate the amount of interest you will pay for this as well as how much your monthly payment will be once you find the total cost of the loan. Bring this with you to class when we return and we will discuss your answers.
