Randol 5th grade History
Friday is Veterans Day. A Veteran is someone who has served in the military. You may need help from family or friends, but try to gather facts about a veteran (whether a family member or friend.) Which branch did they serve in-Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force or Coast Guard. How many years did they serve? Did they serve in another country? What was their job? If you are able to speak with them, or text them, ask them this question-“Why did you, personally, sign up for the military?” Be mindful, that since the 1970’s , being part of our armed forces has been 100% voluntary. Record their answers on paper and be ready to share when we return to school. Please thank that veteran for their service to our country.
