Randol 5th grade History Friday is Veterans Day. A Veteran is someone who has served in the military. You may need help from family or friends, but try to gather facts about a veteran (whether a family member or friend.) Which branch did they serve in-Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force or Coast Guard. How many years did they serve? Did they serve in another country? What was their job? If you are able to speak with them, or text them, ask them this question-“Why did you, personally, sign up for the military?” Be mindful, that since the 1970’s , being part of our armed forces has been 100% voluntary. Record their answers on paper and be ready to share when we return to school. Please thank that veteran for their service to our country.

Randol 5th Grade Science Being mindful of the drought our region is experiencing and the lack of water in our town, list at least 8 ways to conserve water. Mrs. Buss: ELA Please write a short opinion essay using the OREO outline (Opinion, Reason, Explanation, Opinion). The topic of this mini essay is: What is your opinion on virtual learning? Please provide an introduction paragraph (state opinion), a body paragraph (state reason and example), and a conclusion paragraph (restate opinion). Your essay will have three (3) paragraphs in total. Remember a complete paragraph has a minimum of five (5) sentences. You may type up this essay on google docs or hand write it on lined paper. It will be due when we return to school.

Rannells - English - 7th & 8th Grade Veterans Day is intended to honor all the people who served in the American armed forces, both those who are alive and those who died, although it's largely geared toward living veterans. Veterans Day, celebrated on November 11, is a day to express gratitude to America's service members, past and present, who served in both war and peace. Choose one of following for your virtual assignment. Please turn in when you return to class. Choose one: * Write a letter to show your support to a current Veteran or * Create a piece of Art (Veteran themed) or * Write a one-page (2-3 paragraph) story about a Veteran or * Interview a Veteran, friend of family member.
