Members of Beggs High School's Family, Career and Community Leaders of America chapter spent Thursday at the FCCLA District Conference at Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa. They enjoyed lunch and fun at Incredible Pizza after the conference.
Military Appreciation Night
Beggs High School students enjoyed a special assembly on Wednesday in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Dancers from Ballet Xotchil, led by lead dancer Marisol Castro, performed in beautiful colorful dresses. The dancers, who are from Tulsa, were invited by BHS Spanish teacher Jennifer Schoonover.
The Band of Demons is preparing to host their marching contest on Oct. 14 and gearing up for the regional marching contest in McAlester on Oct. 18. Leading the way are this year's drum majors Kirsten Dooly, Andrew Fulton and Cali Carter.

A young BHS Academic Team had a couple of big wins over Berryhill and Oktaha last night during conference play.
This team, consisting of all sophomores and one freshman, has a bright future. We are expecting big things from them as they learn the strategies of the competition.

Senior Jeremiah Hughes placed 7th in the Varsity 5K division at a tough Inola Cross Country Meet this week. Freshman Isaiah Clay placed 4th in the Junior Varsity 2 mile run.

A new fleet of electric school buses arrived today at Beggs Public Schools.
Congrats Beggs Middle School Softball. We took 1st place at the Lincoln Christian Tournament. 1st game against Verdigris 5-2 win. 2nd game against Carver 3-1 win. And In the championship we played Skiatook and we won 2-1 in a hard fought game. We went down 1-0 in the first inning and with a big hit with two on base, Willow Harold hit a great ball to right center scoring our two runs. Addison Dossett pitched a near perfect game, giving up only one hit and 7k's. The game concluding catch came from Addie Coale in centerfield. Everyone on the team played a vital role in winning. Coach Shockley and Coach Hightower did an amazing job working with this team and the future is bright. Go Lady Demons!
